Gu Kui made his troops march, using all way of land and rivers.
Cao Xiu got to Wan. Lu Xun atacked Cao Xiu's front face. Zhu Huan and Quan Cong atacked his side face. Tens of thousands soldiers of Cao Xiu was killed or caught.
Then, Gu Kui got to Wan. He used flag and drums. So the enemy thought that he has a lot of soldier, and they withdraw from there. But Cao Xiu said to Gu Kui " We lose the battle because you are late. Pick up arms abandoned." Gu Kui said " I act as Yuzhou Cishi for the nation. I did not come here to pick up arms abandoned." He withdraw from there. Cao Xiu reported it to the emperor. The government officials knew Gu Kui was right. But They kept silent because Cao Xiu was a high dignitary and was a member of royalty. Cao Xiu hated Gu Kui and impeached him a lot of times.
